The Board of Directors of the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center, 105 Seminary Street, Pennsburg, PA, invites youth and families to attend various summer camp programs at the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center.

Summer camps run during the months of June, July, and August. Summer camps are focused around the Heritage Center's special exhibits and collections and explore themes of labyrinths and mazes, symbols in German and PA German art, and investigating family histories. "Our summer season 2011 is an exciting one," says Museum Educator Rebecca Lawrence, "we'll explore symbolism in our collection of Renaissance and 18th century books and decorative manuscripts (Fraktur) and discover our own concepts of identity, community, faith, and art during our various summer camp programs."

Labyrinths, Knots, Mazes and More, Ages 7-11, June 21-24, 2011. $80 per participant.

Family, Home and Community, Ages 7-11 June 28-July 1, 2011. $65.00 per participant.

Symbols, Faith, and History in German and PA German Art, Ages 9-13, July 19-22, 2011, $65.00 per participant.

Summer Art Camp, Ages 7-11, August 2-5, 2011. $65.00 per participant.

The Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center was founded in 1884 as an informal collection in a private home to assure the preservation of the Schwenkfelders' cultural identity. Today the Heritage Center, a not-for-profit organization, is still preserving, interpreting, and documenting the history of this German Protestant group along with their Pennsylvania German Heritage. The Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm; Thursdays 9:00 am to 8:00 pm; Saturdays 10:00 am to 3:00 pm; and Sundays 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Heritage Center is closed to the public on Mondays. For additional information call 215–679–3103 or visit our website www.schwenkfelder.com
