Schwenkfelder Heritage Center Hosts Photo Contest

The Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center in Pennsburg, Montgomery County, invites the public to submit photographs for their upcoming photography contest and show, For the Beauty of the Earth, slated to open on September 28 at the Heritage Center.

The show, co-sponsored by the Lorax Foundation of Berks County, is open to all, with categories for adults and children. Photographs must be of the natural or historic landscape in the following counties: Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, Bucks, Lehigh, and Berks.

The natural landscape may include photographs of nature, such as plants or animals, or family, friends or pets interacting in the southeastern Pennsylvania landscape. The historic landscape may include photographs of historic sites and places in southeastern Pennsylvania.

There are size limitations and only one photograph is permitted per participant. All adult submissions must be matted and mounted. All photographs must be submitted by September 2, 2008, to qualify. Cash prizes will be awarded including a $100.00 prize, for first place in the adult category, provided by the Lorax Foundation. A public reception will be held on September 28 for the announcement of the winners.
