Christmas Market at Three Local Preservation Societies

PENNSBURG, Pa. - A tour of Pennsylvania German traditions and folk art will be held Saturday, December 6, 9:30 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday December 7, 12:00 to 4:00 pm. Join Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center in Pennsburg, Mennonite Heritage Center in Harleysville, and Goschenhoppen Historians in Green Lane for two days of Christmas shopping and good cheer. The organizations have joined together to offer visitors a splendid array of handcrafted folk art for sale in addition to delightful holiday exhibits to enjoy.

The Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center, 105 Seminary Street, Pennsburg, offers fun and affordable holiday décor and gifts and a special Stahl Pottery book signing by authors Anne and Barbara Goda. Exhibits include the traditional Christmas Putz, Paintings and Sculpture by Jack Eagle, Decorative Nutcrackers, and Fanciful Art Dolls by Stacy Clark.

The Goschenhoppen Historians, routes 29 and 63, Green Lane, will feature vintage Christmas Collectables, Home Baked Goodies, Books and Folk Festival Craftsman's Wares and more. Exhibits include their Country Store Museum, antique cookie cutters, vintage toys, and members' own favorite childhood Christmas gifts.

The Mennonite Heritage Center, 565 Yoder Road, Harleysville, offers their Pennsylvania German Folk Art Sale featuring the finest in traditional crafts and folk art. Exhibits include Childhood Memories: Stories from Yesteryear- antique toys and dolls.
