Photo Contest Winners to be Announced Sunday, September 28

Pennsburg, PA ---

The Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center, 105 Seminary Street, Pennsburg, invites the public to a free reception with refreshments on Sunday, September 28, 2008, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the Heritage Center's Meeting Room, to announce the winners of the Photo Contest, "For the Beauty of the Earth," held in partnership with the Lorax Foundation.

The exhibit of all entered photographs will also be opening on this day and will run through November 2, 2008.

Awards will be given in three age ranges: Adult, Children ages 14 to 17, and children ages 7 to 13. Three awards are available in each category:
first, second, and third place prizes.

First place prizes, $100.00 for adult and $50.00 for each child's category have been provided through the generous sponsorship of the Lorax Foundation.

Second place prizes, $50.00 for adult and $25.00 for each child's category have been provided through the generous sponsorship of Stauffer Manufacturing.

Third place prizes, $25.00 for adult and $15.00 for each child's category have been generously provided through sponsorship by Steve Pestrock Photography.

The Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center was founded in 1884 as an informal collection in a private home to assure the preservation of the Schwenkfelders' cultural identity. Today the Heritage Center, a not-for-profit organization, is still preserving, interpreting, and documenting the history of this German Protestant group, along with the history of the Upper Perkiomen Valley. The Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm; Thursdays 9:00 am to 8:00 pm; Saturdays 10:00 am to 3:00 pm; and Sundays 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
