CHRISTMAS MARKET SUPPORTS THREE HERITAGE ORGANIZATIONS

Pennsburg, PA ---

Join the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center, 105 Seminary Street, Pennsburg, PA; the Goschenhoppen Historians, Green Lane; and the Mennonite Heritage Center, Harleysville, on Saturday December 1, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday December 2, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm for Christmas shopping and good cheer. The three organizations, each dedicated to preserving the heritage of their communities, have joined together to offer visitors a splendid array of handcrafted folk art for sale in addition to their delightful holiday exhibits.

At the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center, Pennsburg, exhibits include a special, two day only "G" gauge train layout along with the traditional Christmas Putz with a children's hands-on area included, Irwin Mensch the scrivener, Victorian Beaded Whimsies, and local artist Len Hillegass. The "Father Christmas Boutique" will be featuring "Julie in Miniature" - small paintings by Julie Longacre - along with the regular fun and affordable holiday décor and gifts. Cookies and music in the galleries will be available for your shopping and visiting pleasure.

The Goschenhoppen Historians, Red Men's Hall, Routes 29 and 63, Green Lane, features exhibits of period Christmas trees and standard gauge trains as well as a Christmas Garden. They will be selling Vintage Christmas Collectibles, Home Baked Goodies, and Folk Festival Craftsmen's Wares.

The Mennonite Heritage Center, 565 Yoder Road, Harleysville, has a feature exhibit: The Weaver's Trade - flax and wool production and use with a reproduction 18th century PA German Weaver's Shed. On sale throughout the building is a delightful selection of exceptional quality Pennsylvania German Folk Art, featuring a multitude of crafts by the finest traditional artisans.

With many excellent restaurants along the way, plan on spending a day or afternoon visiting these three fine institutions, enjoying the impressive exhibits and shopping for an especially distinctive and one-of-a-kind Christmas gift for friends or loved ones.
